SADIE \
This gown was created for the front cover of the Kansas City Engaged 2022 Fall Magazine.
I was given less than a month timeline to create this gown for Sadie. I was shown one photo of a gown for inspiration and was told the shoot would be full of whimsical pastel florals, and that was it. And boy, did I run with it.
This look took me over 75 hours to complete. The base dress is a mini dress with a crepe skirt. The bodice is made with nude tulle, and organza, and then boning encased in a raw charmeuse silk.
The high-low overskirt is a separate piece, and the base of that is the crepe to match the mini dress underneath. The texture on top is made from hand gathered strips. of tulle. Those were all then hand sewn and attached individually by hand. I believe there is over 15 yards of tulle gathered in this skirt alone!
I had only one fitting with this model between concept and shoot day, and holy cow did this shoot blow me away. I’m just beyond grateful to have been given the opportunity to create such a fun dress that I normally wouldn’t have made on my own without a little push.
